User account gets lockout when the “remember password” box checked while accessing a network share for the first time and you changed your log on password. Whenever you try to access the shared drive it will use the old password which was saved previously and you account gets lockout.

Solution:

Run ->  control userpasswords2

Press enter or click OK.

Select the Advanced tab.

select Manage Passwords.

Select the machine name or IP address and remove it.

Log off and Log in.

Error:

The Group Policy client-side extension Group Policy Registry failed to execute. Please look for any errors reported earlier by that extension.

Solution:

1. Save the contents of folder %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Group Policy\History to another location.
2. Delete all files and folders in the History folder.
3. Delete the following registry hives:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy\History
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy\History
4. Open Command Prompt and type gpupdate/force.

Error:

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {} to the user Domain\Username. This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool

It worked for me.

Error:

Windows cannot obtain the domain controller name for your computer network. (An unexpected network error occurred. ). Group Policy processing aborted.

Solution:

Back up the registry.

Create the below reg keys.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
“GpNetworkStartTimeoutPolicyValue”=dword:0000003c
“GroupPolicyMinTransferRate”=dword:00000000
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
“GroupPolicyMinTransferRate”=dword:00000000

Run -> Gpupdate /force

It should take care of the issue. Sometimes it may require reboot.
